American Tennis Players
Good American Tennis players?
I follow professional tennis fairly closely, and have been a big fan for a long time. I am concerned about the complete lack of promising young American players on the tour. It seems like for so long Agassi and Sampras dominated the sport. I don’t believe Rodick will win another major and none of the other American players (Fish, Ginepri, Dent) seem to have the potential to compete for majors. Does anyone have any inside information about promising young American players?
I did not forget Blake, but I believe he is close to 30 years old. He was an OK player, but his prime is over. As for Rodick, I think he will still be in the top 10 for a few more years and maybe make some major semifinals or even finals, but his problem is he will never win a match against the “Big 4″ – Federer, Nadal, Djokovich, and Murray (possibly against Murray but not the other three)
The McEnroe brothers have been doing some work with the youth of america. We’re not in a very good time of American tennis players, but atleast there is action being taken. Due to people like Federer and Nadal making the game so popular, so many more kids are playing Tennis Now.
In maybe 10 years we will see a great rise in the good American tennis players.
Not to say it will have to be that long, but you get what I mean. People who are being inspired now might find themselves on the pro tour one day.
