Doubles Tennis Positions
I can’t serve in doubles tennis?
I don’t know what’s wrong but I’ve spent all my time practicing serving for singles and I got good at it and now when I have to serve doubles, I can’t do it. I got really used to serving with my one racquet but then I got the strings changed because I wanted to try a thinner gauge and the strings feel different but I like them and now I don’t know if it’s that I’m not used to it but I just can’t get the serve in. In the singles serve position I’m ok but in doubles (which is supposed to be easier) it just doesn’t work. What am I doing wrong?
Assuming that you are serving from the wider angle… I always point my front (left) foot towards the deuce court’s net post. In that way I can open up when I strike the ball.
Are you also following through or are you pulling up halfway? It could be a mental thing.
