Go Tennis Jacksonville
What city in Florida should I move to? Orlando, Miami, Jacksonville or Tampa?

I will be graduating college soon and working in Journalism. I am trying to figure out which city will be a good starting block for a young reporter. I have narrowed my choices down to cities in Florida because I hate cold weather and there is something about Florida that I like. I love to go to nightclubs and like the beach and love to play tennis. I know finding a job in this economy is the most important but I want a life outside of my job. I have even considered Tallahassee and Gainesville, Fl because these could be good starting places for me in a small market. Could you tell me some of the pros and cons of the cities i have talked about. Thank you and God bless

Well first of all, I don’t know where your are, but unemployment is high here in FL ..higher than the national rate..and they’ve been letting off newspaper workers around Orlando.
If you don’t speak Spanish, you probably should rule out Miami. I don’t hear many exciting stories about Jax anymore, but Orlando has stripped it of it’s crown in the competition of being crime ridden. Orlando has plenty of stories and excitement.. especially due to crime. FL also has some mild neo-fascist factions growing in response. Good luck with that. Tampa has much less crime than Orlando though people from the area try to make it sound very bad. For a while, maybe still, Tampa has a higher unemployment rate than Orlando. I know Gainesville has a college. I think that’s about all it’s known for.
How about Tallahassee? Good sized city and at the political center of Florida.
