why are there 5 points in a high school tennis match?
The scores of my high school tennis temam were 5-0, 4-1, 3-2, etc. If one player wins a set, is that 1 point for his team?
No.
Each individual match won by your team is worth a point.
High School tennis matches consist of 5 best 2 out of 3 set matches
1st Singles
2nd Singles
3rd Singles
1st Doubles
2nd Doubles
Each of those matches count for one point. This means that at least 3 of your individual matches must win in order for you to win the entire match as a team.
If your first score was 5-0, it means that you won every one of your individual matches, 4-1 means you won 4 of your individual matches and lost one of them….etc
