Scoring Tennis Matches
how does tennis score by matches like how many sets does it take to win the first column or w.e.?

first column denotes games
ok
Rule:
You always say server’s score first.
the score goes Love(0),15, 30, 40, game.
if the game is tied 40-40 it is called deuce
if the server wins point on deuce it is called ad in
if the person not serving wins point on deuce it is ad out
you have to win 2 consecutive points in deuce to win the game, if server wins first point so its ad in then loses second point it goes back to deuce
heres an example of scoring 1 = server 2 = other player
1 wins first point 15-love
2 wins second point 15-15(also refered to as 15-all)
2 wins third point 15-30
2 wins fourth point 15-40
1 wins fifth point 30-40
1 wins sixth point 40-40(deuce)
1 wins seventh point ad in
2 wins eigth point deuce
2 wins ninth point ad out
1 wins tenth point deuce
1 wins eleventh point ad in
1 wins twelth point game
score in games 1-0
players play first to 6 games
if you win 6 games you win the set
you have to win by two games like 6games to 4games
if the score gets to 5 games to 5 games so its tied either person has to win 2 games in a row to win 7 to 5, or if it gets tied again at 6-6 the two players play a tie breaker.
tie breakers are played up to 7 points win by two this is ordinary number scoring. the person who just finished serving to tie the game up at 6 games to 6 will receive first and the person who was jus receiving will serve first in the tie break. the person who serves first serves one point then the other player serves 2 then the two players continue alternating by two.
also when playing matches generally you switch court sides on odd sum of games like 0-1 games or 3-2(3 + 2 = 5 and 5 is odd)

ohh the player serving gets 2 serves per point if the first serve does not go in they get a second serve. if that does not go in its called a double fault and they lose the point. if one of their serves hits the net cord and lands in the correct service box its called a let and they get to reserve, if it was on a first serve they get 2 new serves if it was on a second serve they get 1 new serve.
