Your guide to the districts of South London
Just as in the rest of the capital, South London has extensive public transportation, despite only having a small part of the Tube network. The S-Bahn, trams and buses more than offset the shortfall.
Here's a guide to some of the districts to the south of London is divided into:
Greenwich
Located on the south bank of the Thames, this community of the world famous for being the location of the prime meridian – Greenwich Mean Time – on which all world views are based. Greenwich is one of the five boroughs hosting the 2012 Olympics and is home to the O2 Arena, the different Concerts and exhibitions.
Kingston
Located in southwest London, has a rich history of Kingston. Many Roman artifacts have been there discovered and a church stood on the same site in downtown Kingston for over 1000 years. Lambeth
This district is struggling with its reputation for high unemployment and high crime. Richmond
This district is home to some of the most affluent areas in London and is considered a very desirable place to live by Londoners. Europe's largest city park, Richmond Park, is located here. The park is three times larger than Central Park in New York, and there are about more than 600 deer inside. Kew Gardens and Hampton Court Park are also in Richmond.
Southwark
Southwark, named in the 9th Century received, contains some of the most famous landmark London. Shakespeare's Globe Theatre, London Bridge, Tower Bridge and the Millennium Bridge are all within its borders. Charles Dickens once lived in the city and chose some his novels set Amazon.de.
Sutton
