The Lee Stock Music Festival runs over the May bank holiday and with no “barbeque summer” predictions from the met office, it proves to be a succesful all weather event. Whether you like spending time with friends or family, raising money for charity or just having a delightful local drink this festival is what you need. The Bury st edmunds Fringe festival covers live entertainment from comedy, music, dance, theatre and street perfomers. the festival spans over a fortnight of events and shows.
The East anglian Dragon boat race is on Sunday 9th may returns to Nicholas everitt Park, lowestoft for what promises to be a fantastic year. The race raises money for the East Anglia’s Childrens Hospices as well as other charities. The boat holds 11 crew members made up of companies, haraties and organisations. the course is over 200 metres and takes up to 30 dragon boats. Acording to the chinese calendar, 2010 is the year of the Dragon, very fitting for this years races.
Weird and Wonderful wood is to be held again in Haughley Park, Wetherden. The weekend is full of artist and craft people and proves a popular family weekend. Demonstrations and workshops, watching practical skills and appreciate their creations. There will be yurts, tepees, domes and even a workingsawmill. Archery for all and the monkey-do tree climbing experience. South and Heart of Suffolk walking festival will feature around 30 guided walks in a variety of locations to suite different tastes and fitness levels.
