What are my chances at UC’s? As you can tell…I live in California. But, lol, going to an Ivy League would be nice (in my dreams). So am I really screwed? What colleges can I get into? What would help my HS profile?
You have a lot of positives going for you, that’s for sure, but that SAT score’s gonna hurt a bit. It might keep you out of Berkeley and UCLA, but depending on how competitive your high school is, you’ll be able to get into some of the lower UCs like Riverside, Santa Cruz, Merced and maybe even Irvine.
There’s not much you can do except to really try to improve that score. They might even look at the higher score. When I applied they averaged your scores, if I recall correctly, but that was 8 years ago.
But yeah, you’re gonna really have to buckle down and study for the SATs. Plunk down $40 at the bookstore for one of those SAT prep books and study it like there’s no tomorrow.
