The chances for an Ivy League?
I am a junior in high school, and I would like to attend an Ivy League college. I'm white, and the first generation. GPA: 3.9 (unweighted) Class Rank: top 5% of the space 3 Number of AP classes: 7 out of 18 (counting from AP planned for older years) (Calculus BC, Chemistry, Statistics, Physics C, us history, European history (5), Spanish) made the number of AP exams: 9 (2 AP exams studying micro and macro economics itself) SAT Critical Reading-720 Math-780 Writing-740 ECs: JV tennis for 9 and 10 Class during junior varsity tennis year (coaches have told me) (preformed in 3 states and 5 countries) Dance Team Debate Team (won several awards) Love photography, but not in any clubs or competitions, 8% of the class gets an Ivy League college in my school (average) is assumed
Would you like to attend an Ivy League education for, or just for the prestige? I ask because you do not specify which school – not all of them are the same. For example, Yale is very different from Brown, which differs from Dartmouth, which is quite different compared to Columbia. Make sure when you apply for the one that suits you the most, not the one with the biggest names:) As for your stats, I'd say you have a good chance. Your GPA, timetable and ECs are up to par. It depends on the recommendations and essays, so make sure you choose teachers who know you well and write your essay early so you can edit before. Good luck next year! ** You should also research Liberal Arts Colleges:) You might like it!
