Tennis Forehand Video
Can someone describe the forehand loop to me in table tennis?
Step by step instructions would be great…please dont tell me to buy the video…thank you all
Hey, I don’t mind the odd game of ping pong so i’ll give it a shot, since your other answer wasn’t so informative…
Ok, as the ball comes to your forehand, its important you let the ball drop to or below the level of the table, therefore giving you a more severe loop. Once you’ve let the ball drop and you’re about to hit it, it is of absolute importance that you brush up the ball (topspin) instead of hitting through it. As not the case in actual tennis, you will brush the ball upwards more than hit through it. This will give you the most loop.
The rest, in terms of depth and direction, is up to you. Just get your racket facing in the right direction to sort out your direction and practice your shot to get the feel of your loop and how hard you should make contact.
Once you get used to using the forehand loop, you can eventually brush across the ball. So if you’re a right hander, your racket would move from left to right as you brush the ball, and this adds another element of spin and bounce.
Just remember that the loop forehand is not meant to be a powerful shot at all, its more just depth, height and spin.
