Tennis Forehand
Tennis forehand?

I have a semi-powerful forehand with a long swing and heavy topspin. Every-time I keep my racquet face parallel to the net, it goes into the night. I always have to keep my racquet face open (which is annoying) how do I fix this?

from what you mentioned with you hitting with heavy topspin, the confusing thing is what grip do you hold your racket? with an open racket face, it is really difficult to generate topspin.
in oder to hit with heavy topspin, you probably have a semi-western or a full western grip. your racket head will be under the ball to brush up on it.
so why is the racket head parallel to the net? are you trying to hit the ball flatter?

i have worked with various players with different types of swing and style over the years.
even with heavy topspin players, you are able to hit the ball flatter without changing your grip.

now topspin players hit the ball from low to high swing right?
they brush-up on the ball. if you hit with too much brush, the ball will have lots of spin but may not reach even past the service line on the opposite court or into the net.

to get much more pace without loosing topspin, you need to swing forward more upon contact. ie. you need to hit the ball more then brush up on the ball.
since you have a long swing, that shouldn’t be a problem.
contact on the ball is the key.
do not open up on the racket face as your long swing will send the ball into orbit.
work on having hitting through the ball more with topspin to ensure you have a good percentages.

try it.

have fun!!!!
