Tennis Grips
Questions about grips and overgrip in tennis.?
I am kinda new to tennis racket equipment because i normally leave it to my coach to take care of it like doing the restringing and changing my grips. So anyways today i went out looking for a grip for my racket. While looking i realized that some packages that says tennis grip their grips were thin. I thought grips were supposed to be thick? And some overgrips were thick. i thought overgrips were supposed to be thin. Can someone explain to me. Thanks in advance
Different companies make varying overgrips. The new Gamma supreme is quite thick, in comparison to Tourna Grip Original which is rather thin. Thickness depends on the company and preference(yours). By whichever one feels more comfortable for you and use it.While this means you DO have to spend money,it’s a worthwhile investment because you can try out several and use your favorite one.
In addition, there are replacement grips which you put over your stock one – those are very thick.
I recommend Yonex Supergrap, Wilson Pro, and Tourna II as the top 3 “overgrip’s”.
