Tennis Hopper
going to disney world in July?

I’ll be 25 weeks pregnant then, I lived in tampa for 12 years I already know July has horrible heat and disney is extremely crowded then too. but I got hopper passes before I found out I was pregnant i’m due in Oct so this my time to go before the passes expire. Anyway, I was wondering what is the best type of clothing to wear, like moister wicking … shoes also I know i’ll need something that is comfortable for walking but also something that breathes so tennis shoes don’t really breath well any ideas on shoes? Any other tips on staying cool .. besides the obv drink water go to the shows etc.

I suggest tank tops made of breathable fabrics or UnderAmour-type material; stay away from polyester. Shorts are a given, and again, cotton is a great fabric that breathes. If you get “that rash” on your inner thighs, try bringing some baby powder and rub some on that area to absorb moisture.

As for shoes, I know exactly what you mean. I hate tennis shoes but I didn’t have any other shoes that were supportive enough for Disney…until I found Keen’s shoes: http://www.keenfootwear.com/wall/shoes/women/waterfront

I LOVE my Keens. I own the Venice H2 in Heliotrope/Persimmon and they were fantastic. They are expensive, but they’re waterproof (great for rainy Florida weather) and so comfortable. If you do get them, be sure to order them as soon as you can so that you can break them in – mine rubbed me in a couple of places for a couple of days at first but broke in quickly. Also, they do get a little smelly, but a touch of Arm & Hammer in the bottoms of them overnight (dump out the powder in the morning), and they’re good as new.

If you’re staying on Disney property, go back to the hotel during the hottest part of the day to nap, swim, or just cool off, and come back when it’s a little cooler. Bring one of those handheld fans and plenty of batteries for it – it really helps. Eat plenty of fruit/drink plenty of water, etc.

I hope this helps. Have a great trip!
