What is the origin of the tennis scoring system?
Why did you start at 15 to 30 and then go for 40? Why do we use "love" as the zero-score?
at the start of the tennis, they used a clock to count. the minutes of the clock determines the score 0, 15, 30, 45, later 45 was too long to pronounce are considered, was to be changed by 40 Love of zero is in fact from the French word l'oeuf (egg)
