to all tennis geniuses out there… lets discuss this…?
how come federer can easily return roddicks serve but has a hard time returning sampras’ serve?
I’m talking about this years stats… federer can easily return roddicks 140-150 mph serve but has a hard time returning sampras’ 120-130 mph serve during their 3 game exhibition match in asia…
another thing also is that sampras is older than roddick and with a serve slower by 10-20 mph federer has a hard time returning it…
and dont tell me its about placement, roddick can place the ball on a dime, even has a higher 1st serve percentage but federer can read it…
if you dont have any idea dont bother to answer, okay… lets just leave this to people who really know tennis…
Its because Federer is used to playing Roddick. They have played each other as many as 16 times. Roddick has thrown everything including the kitchen sink at Federer and Federer has managed to beat him 15 times in 16 matches.
Federer has played Sampras only once and isnt used to his serve. Naturally he had a problem facing it.
