Which young female American tennis player will be the biggest?
Young 17 year old Coco Vandeweghe won her first WTA Tour match vs Garbin! Hooray. I saw her play vs Jankovic at the US Open and saw potential. Since the Williams’ are aging we need a new crop of American girls to take over the next generation (though Venus is talking about the 2016 Olympics…). Who will be the best!? Your options are:
– Coco Vandeweghe, 17 years old, highest rank 393 (which will improve now)
– Alexa Glatch, 19, HR 102, big Fed Cup showing
– Melanie Oudin, 17, HR 70, 4th Round at Wimbledon
– Christina McHale, 17, HR 361, qualified for Aussie Open
– Vania King, 20, HR 50, many 2nd round losses at GS’s
– Madison Keys, 14, (no rank), won 1st WTA match at young age

lol by biggest I don’t mean fat, bad wording, how about, the GREATEST
I think they are all going to be kind of successful and I would be surprised if most of them don’t get to be in the top 25 at some point in their careers. Alexa was really impressive at the Fed Cup with her two pressure filled wins, but has done little since when compared to some of the more successful teens on that list. For some reason I don’t see too much in Coco if all she can do is hit the ball hard like Jelena said last year. Vania King may end up being a more successful doubles player then the rest of them considering she has had great results in doubles so far. Madison is definitely impressive so far considering she has already beaten Serena (even if it was in WTT) and she is only 14 and has more then enough time to improve what she is missing plus she is coached by an Evert. Melanie is going to be great, she just needs more experience, and between her and Madison (even though she’s young I’m still going to say it) I think they’ll be consistent top 15 players, of course time can only tell. This is a list of who I will think will be the most successful (singles and doubles)
1. Madison Keys (On a very exclusive list already with former greats)
2. Melanie Oudin (Young yet slowly reaching the top)
3. Vania King (Doubles Specialist in the future?)
4. Alexa Glatch (She’s kind of a wildcard in my mind, either a great career or an uneventful career)
5. Coco Vandeweghe (Not seeing that much potential considering her only strategy to my knowledge is to hit the ball as hard as possible)
6. Christina McHale (haven’t seen her play and didn’t even hear about her like I have the others on the list to this point)
