Tennis Penalties
Do you realize you could be arrested for threatening someone on the street?
If its against the law to threaten someone with physical violence in public, why should Serena Williams be allowed to get away with a slap on the wrist for threatening a lines woman? In case you missed it, her exact words were “I’m going to take this F ball and shove it down your F throat!” That’s pretty intimidating coming from someone the size of Serena holding a tennis racket. Its one thing to throw a tantrum and lose your cool, its quite another to make threats. I think Serena deserves more than just a simple point penalty for that behavior, don’t you? If not, what kind of example does this set for the millions of kids watching her around the world?
Yeah there is some pro’s and con’s/
Ever hear hockey players talk when they are on the ice? To the referees and other team? Yeah, you would be highly offended. Its a high competition sport. This helps bring in extra attention from outside viewers from an economists view. I don’t give a shit about tennis but it almost makes me want to look up what happened, thus more money in Serena’s sponsors pockets.
Oh yeah and hockey players fight all the time, they don’t go to jail? Sports have different rules. Football is all about tackling. But nooooooooo when you tackle somebody in the streets its called “assault”. Puff Daddy can sell crack on TV but in real life they take it seriously and call it trafficking. Entertainers get special rules.
