Would you agree, "the best tennis player" era was separated in two?
Pre-and post-graphite racket graphite shaft? I grow and learn tennis with wooden rackets, then the metal (steel and aluminum) bats came, but the game does not really change until the graphite racket surfaced. Graphite really change the face of tennis in my opinion. the shots we have learned, taught, are no longer the point during construction of the wooden racket era (or much less effective). the graphite technology also shape the new generation of tennis players who are more physically demanding game, players are bigger, stronger and above in comparison to the wooden era players. So I really think if argue who the "Best Ever" I think it only make sense to make it before and after the graphite technology. Pre-Graphite Rod Laver, I would certainly say post-graphite nor acceptable at this point between Federer and Pete … Would Do you agree? Source: 30 + years as a tennis player and 15 years in the tennis industry.
On a subconscious level, I think people do it – separate the game in periods. Pre-Graphite: I think that would Borg? Personally, I'd give the edge to Laver Borg. Using the same technology that had Borg that physical Element, Laver did not have. But even as you can see, even if you disconnect the ages, you still have uncertainty about hypothetical Time. Do you think Rod would won the French Open, when Borg was at? Post-graphite: Most people would narrow it to Fed vs Pete. And besides the racket technology, you must also the different surfaces considered. Pete played in rapid grass and hard courts as Roger. I personally think that the difference would be in terms of who the hypothetical make predominate rivalry.
