Why in the pro tennis leagues have women play fewer sets than men?

Sounds pretty stupid / lazy to me especially because women try sport To gain popularity and all. As professional athletes, they should be endurance / energy and to keep them, by the same number of sentences.

In most Tournament play so many sets of women as men, but in the big tournaments (GS and so on), the men play more. It's a good question, because I the same Pay for women in the big tournaments only if they play to support the same number of sets.
