Tennis Set Scoring

how does tennis scoring works and how many sets are you suppose to win?
- a standard game is scored as follows with the server’s score being called 1st:
no points – “love”
1st pt- “15″
2nd pt- “30″
3rd pt- “40″
4th pt- “game”
except that if each player or team has won three pts, its called “duce”. after “duce” the score is called advantage for the player or team who wins the next pt. if that same team/player also wins the nxt pt they win the “game”; if the opposin player/team wins the nxt pt the score again is “duce”. A PLAYER/TEAM MUST WIN TWO CONSECTIVE PTS IMMEDIATELY AFTER “DUCE” TO WINE “GAME”!!! btw… this can go on for quite sum time!!! which usually occurs if ur on the same level!!!
- now during a tie-break game, points are scored as “zero”, “1″, “2″, “3″, etc. the 1st player/team to win 7 pts wins the “game” and “set”, only if there is a margin of two pts over the opponent!!! if necessary the tie-break game shall continue util this margin is achieved.
- there are different methods of scoring in a set. the two main methods are the “advantage se” and the “tie-break set”. either method may be used provied that one to be used is announced in advance of the event. if the “tie-break” sed method to be used, it must be announced whether the final set will be played as a “Tie-break set” or and “advantage set”.
A) “advantage set” the 1st player/team to win 6 games wins that “set”, provided ther is a margin of two games over th opponents. if necessary, the set shall continue until this margin is reached
B) “tie-break set” the 1st player/team to win 6 games wins that “set”, provided that there is a margin of two games over the opponents. if the score reaches six games all, a tie-break shall be played.
- a match can be played to the best of 3 sets (a player/team needs to win 2 sets to wint the match) or to the best of 5 sets (a player/team needs to win 3 sets to win the match)!!!
anyways i hope this was really informed and helped u out tremendously!!!
