If a person running in place for 15 minutes, how many calories are burned? 3. If a person cross-country skiing for 35 minutes how many calories are burned? Thank you for help this out. I can not figure out what equations to set up to answer these questions.

Hello – this is easier than it looks – here's how it find out: 1 We are there jogging at 5.5 mph burns 740 calories per hour. So if a person jogs at the speed 3.5 hours (I assume that the number did you mean to type), we figure the calories burned as follows: 740 (calories per hour) x 3.5 (number of hours) = 2590 calories. 2. There is no specific number of calories instead of per hour to operate, so we must assume it is the same as at 10 mph (which is given as 1280 cal / h). And 15 minutes 1 / 4 of an hour (or 0.25 Hours). Also: 1280 (calories per hour) x 0.25 (number of hours) = 320 calories. 3. We are there cross-country burns 700 calories per hour – 35 minutes 35 / 60 of an hour (or 7 / 12, or .583). So: 700 (calories per hour) x 0.583 (number of hours) = 408.33 calories. Hope this helps!
