Does anyone actually know how tough badminton is to play?

Anyone think badminton is a sissy sport? Usually only those who play badminton understand how tough the sport is. Just wondering how many people know these facts. Badminton is the fastest racket sport in the world (faster than tennis). World record for fastest smash is 206mph ( fastest serve in tennis is 153mph by Andy Roddick). Badminton is the second most played sport in the world (after soccer). It requires quick reflex, agility, and mental strength. Average distance covered in a singles match is 1-5 miles. Badminton is not played in the backyard and does not use a volleyball net. The lifespan of a professional career in badminton is shorter than tennis.
I’m not trying to say that badminton>tennis; in fact, I love tennis. I watch tennis (tired of Roddick losing so much). Tennis is a really hard sport to play and can be very competitive. I just feel that badminton should deserve better than the horrible stereotype it’s stuck with. Anyone object to this?

I agree that badminton is not given its proper due as a sport. Properly played, it is all about quickness and finesse.
It generally is looked at as a bit of a sissy sport because of the backyard/picnic games that are played all over the place just for fun.
