What is the best Programming Language for my Software Project?

For my Software Design and Development class at school I need to make a scoring program for the schools tennis club what would be the best commonly used language for this?

It depends on your expertise of various programming language.
I shall choose ActionScript 3.0 with Adobe AIR and an SQLite database to do this.
Well there are a lot of options. You can do it using
.net
php or ROR with mysql
C++ and Qt
java etc
