A Legends' history in Tennis: Chris Evert

Born in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida in December 1954, Chris Evert was playing tennis. Tennis, a Tradition in her family before she was even born. Her father, Jimmy Evert, was a professional tennis coach and helped Chris and her sister Jeanne achieve professional tennis ranks. Her brother John went on to receive a scholarship to play tennis at the college level. From the beginning, tennis was intended to be a part of their lives.

Evert has several options of romance in her life, including public relations with other athletes Jimmy Connors had (never married, but by the 1970s), John Lloyd (married 1979), Andy Mill (married in 1988) and Greg Norman (married in 2008). Each marriage ended in divorce, the most recent this year.

Her professional career in 1989 finally ended. With her career win-win column packed and full of their trophy, they put an exclamation point on her career by the Tennis Hall of Fame in 1995.
