if you are involved with college admissions, or are a high school or college teacher, you are my ideal audience! or, if you were recently admitted to Ann Arbor let me know as well! thanks
I didn’t graduate from UMICH, but I did gain admittance to it as a senior. Plus, my brother and many high school classmates attended UMICH. Your statistics look good, it will at least put you in the competitive running. Actually, let me revise that statement: are you an in-state resident? If you are, I think you have a pretty good chance. However, it is infinitely more difficult for out-of-state residents to gain admission to Michigan (you might as well apply for any of the Ivies at that point). It also depends on how many other people from your school have applied and where you fall in relation to their standing.
As for Penn, my husband went to Penn and had a similar high school record. He had a 4.0 weighted GPA, had all A.P. classes, was student body vice-president, worked in a senate office, and had an SAT score of 1480 (this is back in the day when the highest score was 1600). Provided that you have a pretty good entrance essay with good recs then it sounds like you should definitely have a competitive running for Penn.
PS. You can definitely get into Emory with those credentials. I’ve known others who had significantly less that got in.
Good luck!
